To clarify the greenish hue is on CHAIN mail not ring mail. My fault on the first posting. The greening hue is in the color of the metal that it was made of. That also dictates it magical properties. Also a clarification if you missed it. All the armor is magical as well as all the weapons found. The armor includes the shields.
To get the items identified you will have to go to a town that has a magic shop or a local magician that can identify the items. The farms here do not have a mage in their employment.
The five farmers family who were effected will refuse the 1,600 gold to each. They will each take 500 gold or 2,500 gold giving you back the 5,500 as payment for ridding the area of the goblins. They do not need a lot of money and feel that too much will make them a target from brigands who have roamed down from the north in the past few months. They would not mind you taking care of that issue too if you could.
In the village a half day walk to the south there is a magic shop that one of the farmers knows about. He believes that identifying may cost somewhere around 3,000 gold but is not sure. You would have to talk to the mage who owns the shop his name is Tristan and is a half brother to George.
I take it you mean the family of Arthos and not Avan? Edited: KNtoran on 24th Mar, 2016 - 9:45pm
You are able to make it to town and with the directions from George you soon are at the magic shop and meet Tristan. He is able to identify the items but it will take him a few days to identify everything. He can tell you that the chain mail is made of mitheral and is elven ring mail. He will get back to you with the rest come back in three days.
The chain mail he tells you is made of Mitheral and is a +2 elven chain mail set. The two suits of banded armor are +1 each. The leather armor are two suits of +1 and a suit of +2. One of the +1 suits is small in size. All five shields are +1 also. The robes are as follows. Robe of powerlessness, Robe of climbing and a +2 robe of protection. The boots are 4 pair of elven kind, 2 pair or boots of dancing, one pair of speed and one of levitation. All five daggers are +2, the quarterstaffs are both +2 also. Now for the vial of liquid. 3 vials are poison they are red in color, 4 are of healing (2d4+2) black in color, 4 are green in color they are extra healing (3d8+3), 1 potion of fire resistance, 1 potion of longevity, 1 potion of water breathing and one potion of delusion. A manual of bodily health, a manual of gainful exercise, a manual of quickness of action and a book describing the many various ways of cooking a body. The seven scrolls, are three of magic and four of cleric spells. The magic ones are as fallows: 1. Three first level spells Grease, Jump, read magic; 2. Four second level spells Bind, ESP, mirror image and scare; 3. Four third level spells, Flame arrow, Lightning bolt and Slow. The cleric scrolls 1. Five cure light wounds, 2. Three spells purify food and drink, detect evil, endure heat/cold 3. Four spells, Chant, Know alignment, Slow poison and spiritual hammer, 4. Three spells Dispell magic, Create food and water and Remove curse.
The leather can not be worn over the chain shirt as well as the chain shirt can not be worn over the leather unless you take it to a armorer who can add links to the chain to make it a bit bigger. The leather fits you very well almost as if it was made for you.
The mage will be willing to offer you some coin for the items you do not wish.
The shields are +1 in nature. The gems will need to be appraised by a jeweler he does not want to give you a bad price.
The divine scrolls can be used by any cleric to include druids. The potion of longevity takes 1d12 in age away from any character who drinks the entire potion.
You sense that Tristan is honest with his dealings with the party. Edited: KNtoran on 1st Apr, 2016 - 11:23pm
Just to clarify the +1 or the +2 on the magical items is in addition to the +s that the type of armor normally give. The shields are all heavy steel shields.
The jewelers can not give you a appraised value or approximate price without seeing the gems. They will tell you that they would have to verify that they are not just glass beads you are trying to pawn off as gems.
