The two rangers make it back down to where the wagon is at. They tell everyone that there is a group of people up on top but that they did not get close enough to see who or how many before they were ambushed. The hired Ranger says, "Lets wait til night fall and then let me go see if I can scout them alone. I will also look for Avan as I see he did not come back down. We may have to bury him unless he found a way to get away from the ambush."

Avan you are able to move slowly as you attempt to remain hidden. Every time you make a noise a few arrows come in your direction but so far none has hit you. I figure 10-15% chance of hitting you so I am rolling a D 10 any 1 means a hit on you. So far I have rolled a couple, 2s, a 4, 3, 8, 5 *smile*.

The obscuring mist only lasts 2 minutes total time. But it is enough time for Avan and Mr. Fluffles to head down hill and out the bottom of the mists while the others are starting to head back to find him. He is fully healed as is Mr. Fluffles.

Krusten using her boots of elven kind heads up the hill trying to remain hidden and spot the archers up ahead. So far she does not see any but she is only about a 1/4 the way up.

Every one regroups at the bottom the hill. This is not a good place to defend at right now but it can be if a few trees are cut and used to help make defensive barriers but on the same token it will be noisey. The ranger hired will tell you the best defensible place is at the top of the hill behind you. The wagon will have to be left here as you can not turn it around. He will allow the group to make their decision.

The driver unhooks the horses and takes them back about a 1/4 mile where there is a spot for them to relax and rest. He sleeps there with the horses.

The party makes a small camp around the wagon and makes it look occupied as they melt into the trees and wait the night to see if anyone comes looking at their camp.

The night passes quietly and you did not see or hear any movement coming from the next hill side. The ranger will tell you that he can still see smoke so they should still be there.

The ranger nods his head and heads into the trees and begins to make his way up the hill silently. Soon he has disappeared into the trees.

Zork, Tilantre, Krusten and Avan all move out and work on circling around and up the hill. After about a hour of trying to walk quietly and remain unseen you hear a noise up towards the top of the hill. Listening closely you can make out the sound of the hired Ranger. It sounds like he is calling down the hill telling all the top of the hill has been abandoned and that it is ok to come on up.

The wagon once it has the horses hitched can move easy up the hill towards the top. Once everyone is there they can see that this hill top was used as a place to be a look out. Looking to the west you can see the road the wagon was following from the last hill to the top of this hill. You also notice blinds that are well camouflaged that would allow one to shoot arrows down at approaching people with out being seen themselves. On the east side of the hill you can see a well used track heading more north than east. This well used trail is a bit wider but still you can not see any turn around besides the top of this hill now. The ranger will point out tracks leading away. He will say, "By the looks of these tracks they grabbed their stuff and fled last night probably after attacking us. Since we did not attack back they fled north."

Zork and Albrecht both take off down the wider well used path that heads north. They travel fast and soon they are out of sight from the hill top. They follow the path for a couple hours and do not see anything. They can see the path still heading more north east now. The path is heading into the mountains up ahead you both can see what looks like a stone tower just about at the limits of normal eye sight at a pass. You are on top of a hill where it looks like there was another camp site for someone.

Those back at the other hill top do not see anything or hear anything.
