If we go to war against north Korea it will not involve nukes. Any country using a nuke will likely set off everyone else and we will have a full blown global nuclear war. All the scenarios have shown that who ever is first to strike with a nuke it will set everyone else off. That would spell world war III and that is nothing anyone can really afford. But then again that may be what it takes to get people to see the light.
I just hope for all of our sakes that China is able to get a better grip on North Korea.
At present the US' test of air samples around the North Korean test site has come up as "inclusive" as to whether an actual nuclear bomb went off. At the same time North Korea fired off yet another test missile today.

Bruce Cumings: Latest North Korea Provocations Stem from Missed US Opportunities for Demilitarization

The United States and South Korea have raised their military alert level after North Korea said it would abandon the 1953 truce that ended the Korean War. We speak to University of Chicago professor Bruce Cumings, author of several books on Korea. Ref. Source 7
After Iraq, It's Not Just North Korea that Wants a Bomb
By Seumas Milne
In April 2003, North Korea drew the obvious conclusion from the US and British aggression against Iraq. The war showed, it commented at the time, "that to allow disarmament through inspections does not help avert a war, but rather sparks it". Only "a tremendous military deterrent force", it stated with unavoidable logic, could prevent attacks on states the world's only superpower was determined to bring to heel. Ref. Source 7
Well of course all the rogue states want "the Bomb". After all, crime lords always want the best weapons to fight the legitimate desire of civilized society to keep them in check.
North Korea has already done untold damage to millions of lives over almost six decades. With a nuclear option, and a missile that can hit the West Coast of the United States, North Korea has a pretty good chance of extorting even more from the rest of the world.
