Arabia, Arabians in the Bible
In the Bible who are the modern day Arabians?
No one. The Arabians are from the peninsula of Arabia, so they are not near the land of Cannon, or Egypt where the Bible people are. They claim through Islam that they are the descendants of Ismael, but from a historical perspective that is suspect. But from a theological religious perspective that is where they claim their heritage. This is all from the Koran. Nothing from the Bible alludes to this. Even today the people from Iran, Iraq, Kuwait are not Arabs.
According to the LDS Bible Dictionary Arabia was divided into sections of tribes / races:
Yes you are correct. The bible talks of other tribes that existed in Arabia. Arabs are a culture or identity of a people that did not come into being much later. Many of these tribes over hundreds of years eventually merged together into a new people or identity which we call Arabic. So as for modern Arabs there is no direct ancestor in the bible that they are directly linked too. Just as there are a few tribes that are mentioned, there are many more who are not talked about in the OT. All of these tribes eventually merge into a new people, that contribute to the Arabic culture. So will you find any ancient culture that is the direct linage, and foundational identity of modern Arabs? No but you will find tribes that died out whose children over hundreds of years intermingled into other tribes who mingles with others who after hundreds of years merge as the Arabic culture.
