Marvel or DC Comics? - Page 2

I like both Marvel and DC. Its nice to see Marvel expanding, about two years back, I came across a Fantastic Four "Mangaverse" Marvel comic, which drawing style was similar to that of japanese mangas. Even though its nice to see them doing that, I would prefer if they stayed with the western style of drawing, but thats just the anime otaku side of me.

Of the two, I prefer marvel. DC comics always have the same characters and storylines over and over. They bring up something awesome like the death of superman, but bring him back to life. Grated, that kept me interested for a good two years. But marvel has always kept me hooked with X-men and all its off shoots. Marvel is edgier and more hardcore, though not as hardcore as my favorite comic maker, Image! Image of course makes the comic book spawn, among others.

Marvel or DC Comics? Reviews & RPGs PBP Anime / Comic

I'm totally a Marvel fan. I've read them for a long time. I'm totally psyched that Moon Knight is coming back. I personally can't wait. Avengers is awesome. I also look forward to the aftermath of the most recent Marvel major crossover in the Civil War. Should be interesting.

DC because of the Justice League and the Justice Society of America.

I prefer Marvel because of the X Men. I love how much it relates to the problems we face today and in the past. I love the way the different characters have interesting background stories and powers. And showing how the United States would react to such an evolution occurring.

It creates an interesting scenario and I love it. And the art work is brilliant, except for the woman and men being unrealisticly skinny and muscular but I over look it and enjoy the nice drawings and colors.

Marvel or DC Comics?

I have been collecting comics books all of my life, and I must say that I prefer Marvel. Marvel has all of my favorite characters including the X-Men and Spider-man. I can't say for sure what the difference between the 2 brads is, but I can give my opinion. With Marvel the characters seem more "cutting edge" for example, Cable came from the future and was the son of 2 very well known heroes in the Marvel universe. Things like that really appeal to me as a Sci-fi/Fantasy fan. I take nothing away from DC however, this universe hold one of my favorites of all time. Early Batman was dark, dangerous and lived in the grey are...you never really knew what he was, Good or Evil. The 2 universes balance each other out famously and each is guilty of pilfering ideas of the other. Marvels character the Gladiator, an alien who could fly had super-strength and was near invincible, is a blatant photo copy of DC's Superman. I am positive that if I knew more about DC I would be able to come up with an example for them also. In conclusion, Although I truly prefer Marvel, I do not believe either universes would be as successful without its counter-part out there.

Marvel DC Comics - Page 2

When I was a kid, my brother and I were Marvel fans through and through. We'd pick our favorites and they are still considered to this day as "my guy" and "his guy" (example, my guy is Daredevil and his guy is Captain America... I'm still jealous that he picked Cap first). We dubbed DC "Dumb Comics", mostly because of the Superfriends cartoon and the lack of egdiness their titles and characters had. A few years back, though, I got the "camp" bug and started loving DC's characters... Green Arrow is the campiest character EVER, he's basically Robin Hood with green as his main motif... well, that and socialism. Hilarious. I gave up Marvel for a few years and thats mostly due to the over saturation of their "X" titles... sooooooo bored with Wolverine. No offense to any fans out there. And Spider-Man. I find him tedious and played out. Love his rogue's gallery though... rivals Batman's.

But I've been turned off from DC, again, because of Infinite Crisis and the direction all their titles have taken. How many Wonder Womans, Green Lanterns, Captain Marvels and Flash's do you need? They're on Flash number four I believe. Its dumb. There has only been one Daredevil, one Spider-Man... there has been other Captain America's, but that was always part of a storyline, and the original always would take the mantle again, eventually. I find Marvel's characters more iconic... but I guess DC will always have Batman and Superman. I find DC's main pantheon diluted by their continuous revamping of their main characters. What number of Aquaman is this? As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I have become a full-flegded member of the Marvel army once again... this is due to Civil War. I know its not the strongest of ideas, but it sure is interesting seeing the character development of all my old favorites. I think Civil War infused a little bit of freshness Marvel needed... having Cap and Iron Man (another guy that makes me yawn... sorry) face off and having their respective iconic characteristics made a point is awesome. I'm anti-registration for sure.

So, yeah... Marvel, for sure.

Might be because my first comic was a true treasure find Number one X-men in a yard sale, sure the cover was torn but I was 5 and to me it was a true treasure for one cent! Marvel had the better plots to me and the characters were more interesting.

I do like Batman dark and psychotic my kinda guy. But I never found DC offered characters that held my attention or when you read it that you actually where looking forward to the next issue.

Spiderman, Ironman, X-man, and gold old capy where my favs.
