Other opinions can be valuable, Mr Imbert

LET me express my deep resentment towards opinions attributed to our Honourable Minister of Works and Transport Mr Colm Imbert, that major objections to his Government's and/or Cabinet's decisions are political. Ref. Source 9

There are rumors spreading that Colm Imbert should be the new Opposition Leader and that Manning should esign from his leadership of the PNM. Do you think that Colm Imbert can do the job as Opposition Leader? Interestingly enough he won his seat by just a few hundred votes so he has lost favor in his constituency and it was probably only die hard PNM that gave him their vote.

Wrong choice. First of all, his whole demeanor is arrogant and if they want to try to distance themselves from Manning, then this guy is the wrong way to go.

The latest rumor is that he and Manning are threatening to resign their seats if Rowley is made the new leader.

His father Desmond Imbert, died last Wednesday and they held his funeral yesterday.

According to TV6 News Colm Imbert claimed that someone hacked into his FaceBook account and posted controversial remarks that he did not condemn but since led him to remove his account. Thoughts?

After insulting the entire population of Trinidad and Tobago by making fun at the fact that he keeps raising fuel prices and "No one has riot yet therefore he might raise it again in April 2017" Source 8u Colm Imbert have not apologized and will not apologized for that statement and others.

Certainly, we know that's how he generally operates. I find very interesting that he had no problem in releasing sufficient funds for the HDC to be able to pay his wife's company the sum of 7.5 million owed to her Source 5m

That's Trini politics. Take care of yourself first while you can and you are in power. To hell with everybody else. PNM politics, raise taxes until the population cannot longer BREATHE and destroy the poor peopleā€¦ the same ones who put them in power in the first place.

Comments: Well we must face the facts that many of the politicians on this island despite which party they say they represent or what they may profess, are in politics for the personal financial gain, and where the opportunity arises to include members of their family or associates in the free for all private or political money spinners schemes, they do so, at the expense of our ordinary citizens. It all amounts to corruption, a disgusting and disturbing infestation of this nation.

This is one of the main reasons why we still have growing poverty, and we are lacking in so much welfare and recreation and other essential facilities here.

We are also lacking in diversification and making no real progress as a new nation. We still rely mainly on the profits from our natural resources much of it being either swindled or squandered.at an alarming rate via our local political set up, practices and administrative procedures.

Title: Giving away public funds

Comments: It would appear that our senior politicians are overpaid in view of what Mister Colin Imbert has revealed when he said that he gives $2000 per month out of his salary to charity. This is despite a 5% cut in his salary. The only conclusion I could come to is that something is not quite right in respect of his salary. The idea behind salaries is to pay enough to employees subject to their profession and ability in order that they could live a comfortable life, not in order that they should give such a large monthly donation to any charity. Charities have their own procedures for obtaining donation and no one living here in their right mind could afford to give away any part of their monthly salary especially in a time of recession unless they are overpaid and a senior politicians here by the looks of it. This just goes to demonstrate how well off those senior politicians in the corridors of power are. They obviously can afford to live the life of Riley, despite the fact that they are mandated to take a 5% cut of their salaries and still give away public funds.
