I actually enjoyed it, overall. It was definitely slow in a few spots but mostly kept the pace moving at a reasonable and consistent rate. The beginning conflict and Marc Dacascos was a good draw-in for some people, and I wound up liking him as a Native American, and whatisname, Fronsac, as the movie progressed - pretty much the right blend of genteel guest, dedicated official and friend, aloof expert investigator and hero, and rampaging avenger. I was a little disappointed with the reveal, but it was passable, if not exactly solid. It was, after all, a royal/religious/primitive CSI mystery and intrigue (not my favorite) movie, with action/horror elements, which is not how it was presented in trailers and such. But I still enjoyed it.
