Best way to beat a owl bear is the same as any other bear. Hit it hard and often. Most seasoned characters will have little trouble with a owlbear.

It has good hit points and good attack. When fighting an Owlbear your best bet is to keep hitting it till it drops. Cross your fingers it doesn't roll good and kill a member before it goes down.
