Introduction MrJonathan

Caspi (caspian) is the name of a lake under the border with Russia, central Asia. It's the world's largest lake, I'm doing a thesis on the plateau of the Caspi (caspian), and is very like to know the meaning of words when translated info English (or other language).
Sincerely !

Now I understand. I did a search HERE but did not come up with anything. I also tried other places like here: Source 4 but it does not actually give the name's meaning. However I did find this:

Attached Image QUOTE
Lat. Mare Caspium or Mare Hyrcanium, salt lake,

So the word is actual from a Latin source which means "salt lake".
Ref. Source 6

Hope that helps. Since you are from Vietnam it will be nice if you can update our Threads about there. To do so, please enter "Vietnam" in the Search field to the top right and it will show all Threads relevant to your country. Thanks.

I know that:

Attached Image QUOTE
"The word Caspian is derived from the name of the Caspi (Persian کاسی), an ancient people that lived to the west of the sea in Transcaucasia.[11]  Strabo wrote that "to the country of the Albanians belongs also the territory called Caspiane, which was named after the Caspian tribe, as was also the sea; but the tribe has now disappeared".[12]  Moreover, the Caspian Gate, which is the name of a region in Tehran province of Iran, is another possible piece of evidence that they migrated to the south of the sea".

It's very difficult to want to know more about this. Follow me: Caspi is the true meaning, but those who know it's really not that much, and for some reason have not update this to the network. If someone knows what Caspi, please share is with everyone's reference.
Sincerely !

P/s: So thank JB, if any additional information, please do me and everyone know.
