This has gone more deep than I ever thought with the specific contributions, thanks for those. One thing I wanted to mention though is that although the supporting characters may not be upfront taking risks at the same time those that do take the risks can be jeapordizing the whole party. Players who want to take risks should think about their fellow characters unless their truly chaotic evil but then I wouldn't want to be around a character like that anyway.

Wow Oliron I"m impressed at your description it is suprisingly detail yet also straight forward and simple. I don't really agree with the last part, a big reason mainly is that the beings from the abyssal realm, all of which are very evil.

Rpgpundit, I understood what you where getting at by your first post, I can even guess why. You feel the direction we are going, in game, is too dangerous and trying to say this out of game. You probably feel I"m taking too many risks, right?

This isn't specifically about you or your character its just a general observation I made because similar things happen in JB's future earth and medieval where you'll get one player starting something and then including your character in the action even though you don't want your character to be involved in it becuse you can see what the logical outcome will be.

That really IS the risk, then, that's the main point, and a very good one - one or more of the more visible and outgoing player-characters can get the whole group in hot water, even if some of the group were even diametrically opposed to the "leaders'" ideas or plans. That is a commonly known yet often overlooked and not really deeply considered hazard to any adventure; excellent issue pinpointed.

I've told this before I think, but this is best highlighted when I was playing a game of Twilight 2000 and the lead player of our para-military company saw an approaching convoy and helicopter escort - he decided we needed to fire on them before they were able to pick their opportune position and kill us, so we did - and it was our own contacts we were supposed to be meeting. Things can go that way, yeah.
