PBP D&D 3.5 Dark Calling Party Thread - Page 38

Myrrani, having ((Apparently)) gone back up the nearby hill after a good night's rest, goes back to the party and tells them that if they head straight north, they'll be heading in the direction of the cave. It would be a shorter distance to travel, and likely faster, but the path would be more precise. She says she will leave it up to them to decide, but suggests heading north, and a little bit east, so that they cut across the path closer to the cave and can follow it from there.

Sir Valdalen gears up. "Sounds good to me, Myrrani, is it? As long as we get going to somewhere, there can't be THAT many caves - one leads where we need to go, oui?" The paladin motions for the others.

From a stand of trees emerges an elf dressed in dark greens and browns. He holds his bow with an arrow nocked, but it is aimed at the ground a few feet ahead of him. His gait is graceful and silent as the grave. His face is all sharp angles, with a thin but prominent nose like a knife blade. His hair is dark and shines almost blue in the morning sun. It is kept long in elven fashion with a leathern cord on his brow. As he nears, two features stand out. First, his bow, fashioned of bone or antler, is stained a malevolent brownish red, the colour of dried blood, and is covered in finely etched elven script. Second, is the long puckered jagged scar that runs from the missing lower portion of his left ear across his throat to his right collar bone. It is difficult to imagine how such a wound would not have been mortal. When he at last speaks, his voice is not the mellifluous tones you would expect from an elf, but is raspy and somewhat laboured.

Good morning fellow travellers. Though these lands are dangerous, you seem well prepared. Break bread with me and tell me what you seek here.

He proffers what dried bread and he carries, along with fresh berries picked from local bushes. He sits cross legged in front of you and waits for you to join

I am called Del by most. I came to these lands following a band of orcs. They have now sprouted feathers (he says fingering the black fletching of an arrow) or fled. Now I have seen the tracks of many goblins. I have not passed through a town in some months, is there word of what they are up to?
I have vowed to cleanse these lands of Corellon's foes. If our goals are common enough I would accompany you, if you would have me.

Myrrani nods to the newcomer, then voices her agreement.

"I must admit, I too am curious as to what our goal is, aside from reaching this cave up ahead and killing goblins. Why are they such a trouble?"

Aive will step forwards and give a slight bow, " I must apologize but now is not the time to break bread, we are not here to harm any goblins that do not bring harm to us, for now we are at truce with them" Aive will motion in Gefuth's direction " There is a greater threat here that we must relinquish before it grows too strong, I'm sure it being here is an abomination against your god so we will welcome..., Sorry I would welcome you to join us but not everyone agrees with my opinions"

Aive rolls his eyes and glances around the rest of the party to get the general consensus, after no objections he continues.

"My name is Aive" he politely says in a cheery manor as he hands a hand down to Del to help him too his feet.
"You will have to forgive the rest of the party for they seem to often be elsewhere and forget where they are, Now I just hope you are as good with that bow as you appear, we will more then likely need your skills!"

As my time has been less and less I will ask the party to choose a leader. The party leader should post the final action(s) of the group in the game thread. Please leave out any dialogue if it is not needed GM knowledge, also any ooc statements should be excluded. I also think this a good idea because I tend to misinterpret things and jump ahead of myself when acting as the party leader and GM. I will try and restrain myself from doing this in the future, as I think it is causing unnecessary confusion.

A truce with goblins? Interesting...If such a truce holds for long I would be surprised. Nevertheless, tell me of this greater threat if you would. We can certainly talk as we travel if you wish to not tarry here any longer.

OOC: I have been reading back through the past party thread, the character thread and the game thread, but I was hoping someone could just list all the present party members, with just their race and classes, and give just a one or two line sum up of the current goals. I would really appreciate it!

OOC: "Sir" Valdalen, Human Paladin. Lwentano, Half(?)Elf Ranger(?). Aive, Human(?) Rogue(?). Myrrani, Dryad (Homebrew based off Elf) Sorcerer.

Current objective: Reach the cave, kill demons(?), save townsfolk if possible.

I'll say I vote either KNtoran or Jpatt for party leader, unless they're both occupied with the other campaign enough as it is.
