Do you take long to become pregnant?

I have heard that women over 35 have a high risk of having a baby with down syndrome, but I did not know this:

CONCEPTION TIME, PREMATURE BIRTH LINKED?
Women who take more than a year to get pregnant have a slightly higher than
normal chance of giving birth prematurely, new research indicates.

Interesting article JB. I have only one son and by experience, it seems like I don't have problems in becoming pregnant wink.gif one of my best friends in Argentina took almost 5 years in getting pregnant (she had a miscarriage like a year ago) and now she's pregnant and everything seem just great.

JB, you are the question to the ladies only? I will say something here anyway.

I wife took a loooong time to get pregnant. Like one full year after we got married. Yeah, I know. Most people would say that's not very long. But it is pretty long when the family and relatives keep asking "when, when, when are you both starting a family". Geez, as if that's any of their business! But the pressure .... whew, as soon as my wife was confirmed pregnant, we were like having the lid taken off our pressure cooker. wink.gif

This caught my eye:

However, Basso said that while the increased risk was small when all the women were counted together, she suspects a fraction of those women might have a much higher risk and further research may be able to tease that out.

It's a very small risk, and only a "fraction" will have a higher risk. I understand it's of concern to those who have problems conceiving, and that group is growing all the time, but it doesn't seem to be that big of a problem (in my opinion).
