Wowwwww....LOL I don't know how to explain that one! but I assure you are the first person I know that have such a great memory from 'early age' LOL ;D |
I remember sitting on a sofa that is on a porch with my little 4 month old sister laying next to me. Both of my Uncles are moving furniture either into or out of the house. If my sister was 4 months old that would make me 19 months old. The next thing I can remember is going into the Kindergarden class with my Mom and not letting go of her skirt. I was 5 then. The Teacher said: We could cut your skirt to get her loose. And Mom said, no we'll just go outside and get her Father. I let go then. And headed for the door, I wanted Dad.
The earliest memories I have are from about age 1 1/2 or so, definitely under 2 years old. I vividly remember the first apartment I lived in with my parents... my pet gerbil's tank sat atop the fridge... the sofa was blue... I had a makeshift playhouse in my room made out of a refrigerator box... my little record player was kept on a high shelf so I couldn't mess it up...
Then I remember my first camping trip around that time. It was in S. Carolina during the summer and it was horrible- the heat, the mosquitos, the mud... I fell into a large mud puddle right outside the women's shower room and Mom got mad because she had to get me cleaned up all over again.
My first memories, apart from being convinced that I remember being born (which no one will believe me) were when I was 1 1/2 I know I was this young, because my memories are of the days out that I spent with my Grandad, and a holiday that I went on with him and my Grandma when I was this age.
My Grandad died when I was 20 months old, but I can still remember him as though it were only yesterday. For these memories I will always treasure.

Comments: I have a few memories of things that happened when I was 2, maybe a little younger, but I had no idea how old I was at the time because I couldn't understand how time passed by until I was about 5. The only reason I can tell how young I was is that I have a little brother who is 1 year younger than I am. He was barely walking in the memories so he would have been 9 months to a year old. I remember my mom picking him up and saying she was his mom and having my first sibling rivalry. I was actually thinking something like "she's not YOUR mom she's MY mom." I also remember trying to walk up the stairs and screaming for my mom to come get me because I couldn't figure out how to get back down. Most of my early memories are from age 3 and up, however. My mom said she could also remember being 2, so I don't know if it is somehow hereditary.
