I Agree with this 100%. Most of the older things I know about history and mankind has come from gaming, and I feel like it's more likely to stick with you this way.
I remember playing games like Carmen Santiago series, Cluefinders series, Math Blaster series when I was younger and when I got older games like Civilization series and Portal series. Where yes, I'd say that they could be seen as learning games.
I wrote a whole paper on this years ago. I think they can really help in learning my teachers have been using video games for ages to teach in classes.
