During the last NFL SuperBowl, Honda announced the delivery of it's first pickup: the 2006 Honda Ridgeline. The Ridgeline at first glance rivals the Chevy Avalanche in that it is a 4 door SUV/pickup truck. It also boasts the first enclosed compartment under the truck bed for stowing away items just like a trunk. Here is a pretty good review of the Ridgeline from automobilemag.com

I, for one, am excited about the Ridgeline as I absolutely love Honda vehicles. I fell in love with the Avalanche when it was first released, and now that Honda has an equivalent, I would definitely purchase it if I'm in the market for such a vehicle. What are your thoughts on the Ridgeline?

The cargo box is not a separate unit but is fully integrated into the rest of the body. The resultant increased rigidity is evident in the absence of shudder over bumps, an affliction that plagues most 4x4 pickups. |
If and only if it did not burn so much gas I would have already purchases one myself.
At first look I didn't really like the style of the body on the Ridgeline but I have grown to like it a lot. The idea of having a trunk within the bed was a genius idea by all means. This truck was really put together to attempt and accommodate as many people as possible. If you take a look at Honda's web site you can look through all of the features and colors offered and I myself was surprised as to how many choices I could really get on this truck.
It was indeed interesting to learn that Honda, in the first year of putting a truck on the market, won the Truck of the Year award. That says a lot for a 'newbie' to the truck market. The more I read about the Ridgeline, the more I want to go out and buy one. However, we are still paying on our current SUV, and have about 2 more years left on it. Maybe when it is paid off, the Ridgeline will have improved even more, if that is possible.
