I thought since the 'Recepies' thread started by bink is doing so well then we need to give some categories to it... so this one is for sugar lovers!

Tooths Sweet Recipes

Okay, here's one from the movie "Steel Magnolias"

1 Cup of flour
1 Cup of sugar
1 Cup of fruit cocktail, with the juice

Mix and bake at 350F until golden and bubbly.

I've never tried it, but it sounds really really sweet!!  And what's that line from the movie?  "I serve it with ice cream to cut the sweetness."

hehehehe

Chocolate Mint Ravioli Cookies

for the filling:

½ cup hot fudge sauce
½ teaspoon mint extract

for the cookies:

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 squares (2 ounces) smisweet chocolate, melted
1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar

Special aids:

pizza cutter or pastry wheel and a rolling pin

Preparing the filling:

In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat hot fudge sauce on LOW until smooth and softened, about 20 seconds.  Stir in mint extract; set aside.

Making the cookies:

In a medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; set aside.

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer set on high, beat butter and sugar until creamy, about 1 minute.  Beat in egg and vanilla until combined; beat in melted chocolate.  Add flour mixture; beat on low speed until a stiff dough forms, about 2 minutes.  Divide dough forms in half; form each half into a 1-inch-thick disk.  Wrap in plastic wrap.  Chill until firm, about 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.  Using a floured rolling pin, roll dough to a 1/8-inch thickness.  Using a pizza cutter, cut dough into 2-inch squares.  Reroll scraps and cut into additional squares.

Spoon ½ teaspoon fudge sauce into center of each square.  Top with remaining squares.  Using a fork, gently press edges of squares together to seal.

Using a spatula, transfer the filled ravioli cookies to the prepared baking sheets.  Bake cookies until firm, about 10 minutes.  Place wire racks over sheet of waxed paper; transfer cookies to wire racks to cool completely.  Dust cookies with confectioners' sugar.

This makes about 3 ½ dozen cookies.  :)  These cookies here, taste completely yummy  :D
