What is your strategy for confronting the creature Mule in Dungeons & Dragons?

Fighting a mule would be funny. It wouldn't be funny to lose to one though. Mules can be trained for fighting? Never thought about it but they sure can carry a lot of load.

Yes, I did not realize how tough mules actually are, or that they are part donkey and part horse (and sterile). They definitly pack a wallop with those hooves and have good HP / decent AC. I wouldn't ike to fight one solo at level one. I would try and called shot its legs though. Once you take two of its legs it would be all over for the mule.

Never forget that beasts aren't as smart as the typical character. You see one coming you put two good arrows in it and let it fall. If it doesn't then by the time it arrives to your sword's edge that will be the end of that. Plus in order for it to kick it has to turn and use the hind legs... That's a big disadvantage especially if you have a pole arm or long spear to poke it right in the behind.
