Rand Paul: Republicans Should Agree to Disagree on Social Issues
Rand Paul is a pro-life Senator from Kentucky who appears poised to become one of the candidates for the Republican nomination for president in 2016. Although he has a strong pro-life voting record, Paul may turn himself off to pro-life voters with what he said in an interview today.
Paul said in an interview that Republicans should agree to disagree on social issues. If he wants to not lose trust with pro-life voters, Paul will need to clarify his comments quickly and assure them that he is not waffling on pro-life issues. Ref. Source 7
I like about 90% of what this guy is about. He is smart and has a pretty pragmatic approach to government and how the money should be spent to get what we really need and not exactly all of what we want. However, that said, unfortunately, in US politics, it really also depends on what you look like. I just don't think that the media is going to give the curly hair and tea party ideas a break and will just ridicule him out of a potential job as that time draws closer.

America isn't ready for drastic changes that a prospect like Rand Paul might bring unless its about liberalization or just being able to do what you want. The typical voter really does not think about the long term benefits but their personal needs they think can be fulfilled. They rather give the government their money to do what they want so long as they're left alone.
