New Phantom gaming system?

A rival to the Xbox? Or a "Phantom" menace?
A few weeks ago a new game console was unveiled on the Web called Phantom.

Its developer, Infinium Labs, promises it will be the "must-have high performance game console," and that the Phantom will provide "more access to more games of every genre than any competing product," all "with blazing speed."

Six months ago, it was only a rumor among hardcore gamers. In fact, it seemed Phantom was, as the American Heritage dictionary put it, "an image that appears only in the mind; an illusion."

Is this thing for real?  Or is it just a fantasy?

The only step further for them to go is to make a Star Trek virtual room, but then again I have seen them working on that already ::)

What a vision this was but where did it go? I ask myself this question after reading this article. I ventured upon a small mini-quest in search of answers as to why this was not on my Christmas list these past years. The answer I found was actually on the front page of the official web site. https://www.phantom.net/

After this amount of time I find this to be in death so to speak. I see this gaming system in the future to be as non existent as it is now. With the online capabilities of all the other game units and the cheap prices on desktop computers I believe this is now a lost cause.
