I read about this in the local newspaper. If I had a GPS-equipped Palm Pilot, I would be doing this pretty cool internet game. :D This type of hide & seek is really catching on in the state where I live.
High-Tech Hide & Seek
Most Internet-based games keep people firmly in front of their computers.
But the new sport of geocaching is taking technology into the great outdoors. Using coordinates shared over the web, geocachers hunt down hidden stashes using a GPS or global positioning unit.
"It's just like a treasure hunt," said Keith Gilbert, who has found six caches with his family in the two months they have been searching.
The caches can be hidden in plain sight on a busy street corner or secreted in the heart of a national forest.

I do not recall ever having anything such as this going on locally in my area but it does sound interesting. Most GPS systems actually have a 2 foot margin of error so in a game such as this I wouldn't suggest getting too creative in hiding things but never the less I would love to give it a shot myself one day.
