Pop up window problem

I wondered if anyone could help me.

I have windows 98, and internet explorer 6
However, popup windows do not work correctly for me.

If a link is meant to open in a new window and i clikc on it... the window will open but nothing will appear inside.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I have tried searching online and on the microsfot help page but have had no luck.

any suggestions?

Are you running a pop-up blocker program?  That may be the cause of that.  I don't know if it could be anything else, but I can check into it for you.  ;)

:netscape: I like Netscape 7.2, you have those things built in, you can check email, use tabs to search mny pages, etc. It is definitely the BEST browser for this and other problems you may be experiencing. It is safer too!

Jb is right, Rob.  :)  Plus, another question that came to my mind late last night was, do you have this problem while using the AOL browser?  I know that the newer version of AOL 8.0 has the pop-up blocker software already installed in their program.  This may also be a cause of it.  But you should definitely try Netscape 7.2, like Jb said.  That may solve your problem.  :)

Msslm, I did not realize that you are a Netscape user too. What I like about the popup section of Netscape is that you can designate which sites you do not want the pop-up action to work. That is great that you are part of the 'smart' surfers on the net. One thing I do not like about IE is its lack of security, you sometimes have to accept what is given to you or else. Maybe we should start a best browser thread? Maybe one exists already?

lol Yes, Jb, I do use Netscape and I also use my IE.  I am always on the lookout to try new stuff on my puter.  ;)  As long as it doesn't cause system conflicts on my puter  :smile.gif

It sounds like a GREAT idea.  :D  I have caught myself looking several times and I don't think that there is one.  I thought there was one in the general section, but it was about dial-up, cable or dsl.  I'll look a little more and if there isn't one, I'll start one up.  ;)

I normally use Opera to browse but some sites require me to use IE or Netscape and since I do not have netscape,... but I don't like IE or Outlook Express for that matter because it is always the target of hackers or viruses. I find Opera okay but I'm no expert in this browser game.
