Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel

As you all know, Anil Roberts wrote to the Caribbean Premier League, following which the Trinidad and Tobago name was dropped from Red Steel. Then, the Trinidad and Tobago name was reinstated and according to the CPL, this was because of the intervention of the Prime Minister. Apparently Roberts did not have the authorization to ask a removal of such name.

Minister of National Security, Griffith said that Roberts have not been attending a parliamentary caucus for the past few months and if he would have, he would have known that all the ministers but him agreed with the name. He also said that if Roberts wanted the name changed, he should have followed procedure which means bring the matter to Cabinet and seek views.

What are your thoughts?

Steel Red Tobago and Trinidad

No Government Ministers should be squabbling about "Feelings" Towards one another in the public domain, that is unprofessional, but because of the nature of everything in Trinidadian culture and the outspokenness of those involved it was inevitable.

As for the issue of the name "Trinidad & Tobago" Being used in a sports franchise I understand both sides of the issue. However, if you are to take a stance and say no one not representing Trinidad & Tobago in official manner must never use "Trinidad & Tobago" Then there are a lot of businesses and other sports organizations that may have to follow through. The PM's statement on it during a press conference was unclear but I still see the Red Steel using the name in the current matches.
