What is your review for the documentary: "The Ultimate History of the Boeing B17 Bomber"?
The Boeing B-17 "Flying Fortress" has come to symbolize the United States" contribution to the air war in Europe during the Second World War. From 1943 until the end of the war, the Flying Fortresses of the Eighth Air Force became a familiar site over Eastern England as they set off on yet another daylight raid, often deep into the heart of Nazi Germany. Many never returned for thousans of men were killed or wounded during these raids.

Title: 20mm cannons
Comments: Iv'e heard from a friend that 20mm cannons were first used in the nose of B17's to prevent frontal attacks by the Lufewaffe, but this was discontinued because the plane could not be controlled properly. Can you or anyone else tell me the history of the use of 20mm cannons in the B17? I was also told that the man who first thought of this was a cannoneer of WW1 changed to a bombardier during WW2.
