Harman has purchased Newsweek, according to Paid Content's David Kaplan. The magazine was sold for $1 and an agreement to transfer its financial liabilities, which Kaplan noted to be an estimated $70 million. Ref. Source 1

Just to put that in perspective, the website Lycos once sold for $13 billion dollars. Where did it all go wrong with Newsweek? Was it their editor equating Barack Obama to God? Was it the declaration that we're all socialists now? Or was it the stubborn dedication to producing one crappy piece after another? Ref. Source 9
