Still look like a missionary?

Return Missionaries (speaking specifically about the Brethren) are supposed to maintain the same 'conduct' and appearence after their mission. This means being clean and shaven.

However, how often have you seen RMs that have beards, punk styles, etc? Have you been able to always maintain that clean cut appearence since your mission? What are your thoughts on it?

I've seen quite a few RM's with beards, a couple with punk styles but not outrageous styles.  They are still pretty clean.  I have one friend who is home but he still dresses in his suit all the time, parts his hair.  He was an awsome missionary, i knew one of the people he tought.  A really spiritual guy.

They should be able to dress how they want though once they are home.  Its their life anyways.

Still look like a missionary? Studies Doctrine Mormon

When I got home I went to wearing jeans and t-shirts for a while. But I didn't like it, so I wear nothing but slacks and dress shirts now. I still part my hair, I'm not creative enough to come up with anything else, and even if I did I'm not sure how comfortable I'd feel.

I personally think that punk hair styles and such are a little bit degrading, and not really suitable to a return missionary. But I also figure that it's their life, and if they feel comfortable with it, then that's between them and the Lord.

BEARDED MAN A BYU ODDITY

He is a single white male returned Mormon missionary attending Brigham Young University, yet part of an unusual minority on campus. How so? Facial hair. Corey Sherwin has a beard.

As a returned missionary, I have to say that I dress according to the occasion.
I think there is a time for everything Ecl. 3:1-8
One of them is of course a time for mission, another is time for marriage, time for parenthood, time for work etc.
Keeping your spirituality, and high standards, does not lie in what you wear, and the power in the priesthood is not attached a white shirt and a tie.
And for some trades it is quite uncomfortable to wear a suits.
When I was called to serve i a leading capacity, my stake president pointed at my beard and said, "always have the Brethren as an example".
One of his counsellors ( a very funny man ) said "now it depends on wich one of the Brethren he chooses" of course he referred to Brigham Young and the others.
In my opinion the thing that matters is personal worthiness, and how you treat others.
But I would never, desecrate my body with piercing, tattooing etc, I feel this is not right.
When I joined the church I had a tattoo, and after receiving my endowment I felt is was wrong and had it removed.
Just live by the spirit, and the better you do that, the better for you.
