Recently I have been reading a lot on using a Standing Computer Desk rather than the regular computer desk where you sit down. One user claimed that from sitting all the time their concentration diminished and they suffered more with fatigue. I agree and have actually started to develop back strains. For three days I started to sit less and noticed a greater improvement in my ability to concentrate and no more back strain. Here is an image of a Standing Computer Desk that can be converted:

My work place has taken serious thought in this and we have power adjustable desks that can be adjusted for comfort whether we wish to sit or stand while we work. I have mine set up so a click of a mouse will automatically adjust my work desk from a sitting position to a standing position. I sit and stand almost daily at work and I can tell you that it helps a lot in keeping me comfortable and productive.

I'm creating / converting all our home desks to be standing more out of necessity than anything else. In this way the kids cannot touch stuff and it will be better for us physically as we are mostly home bound. After awhile sitting can really make you 'soft'.
