President Gordon B. Hinckley, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, celebrated his 94th birthday Wednesday in Washington
D.C. He was at the White House to accept the Presidential Medal of
Freedom--the nation's highest civil honor--from President Bush.
Born in Salt Lake City on June 23, 1910, he has served as the 15th
President of the Church since March 12, 1995.
LDS LEADER HONORED BY CATHOLIC AGENCY
Catholic Community Services of Utah on Tuesday bestowed its premiere Distinguished Humanitarian Award on the leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
