What a tragic story. The man must have felt really depressed over money to do something like this.

The bodies were found by officers making a welfare check Monday morning when the wife failed to show up at a neighbor's home to go to work, Deputy Chief Michel Moore said.
Officers entering the large, modern home in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Porter Ranch found the older woman shot to death in bed, he said. The other bodies were found throughout the house but not in bed.

I am pretty sure the cop has a reason to shoot (I am hoping). Since they recovered a gun, then it's obvious they were up to no good.

Police spokeswoman Nancy Pratt says the shooting occurred around 7 p.m. Saturday after officers responded to a report about a gun.
Long Beach police attempted to speak with a group of people about the report but they all fled on foot.

Mean and scary: Puppy stolen from boy at gunpoint

Man arrested in fatal shootings in Fresno
A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting three white men he randomly encountered while walking in Fresno in what police called a hate crime. Police said the rampage was preceded by the killing of a Motel 6 security guard last week. Ref. Source 3g.
