Allied Irish says it's lost 17 percent of deposits:

Allied Irish Banks says it has lost a staggering euro13 billion ($18 billion), or 17 percent, of its total deposit base since June in the latest evidence of cash flight from Ireland's debt-crippled banking sector. Ref. Source 9

Banks Irish Allied

It is amazing how much banks going down can affect a country.

Yes the govts of those countries to my knowledge rely on the banks in the good times to try and get better. So they have very little regulation in regard to policing lending for customers, yet they are the people most hurt.
