Autism And The Immigration Link

I was reading an interesting article that was stating that Somali children living in Minnesota have a very high statistic of autism as well as Somali children living in Canada and Sweden compared to Somali children living in their homeland. In Africa they call autism as the "western disease".

Is it possible as it was suspected back in the 1970's that there is a link between autism and immigration?
