I didn't watch this movie yet however I saw an interview with one of my favorite actors (Matt Damon) and he explained that the director of the film made him put stones on his shoes and let him walk in order to portrait the way the cowboys at that time used to walk. Also, in order to speak like them he had two small hairbands (the ones used by little girls for their ponytail) wrapped in his tongue! (Yes, for the whole film!).
