The Guyanese flag was adopted in May 26, 1966. Green symbolizes the forests, vegetation and agriculture. Yellow represents mineral wealth and red stands for the country's eagerness and enthusiasm to embrace the nation-building process. Last but not least white represents Guyana's abundant water resources and the black indicates the perseverance and endurance of the nation.
