Have you ever wondered why they (LDS Artists) paint the way they do? For instance what is the purpose of giving the roman like armor to Mormon and Moroni? Is it just imagination or does it have a deeper meeting? Why is Christ painted 'that' way?

Feel free to share your favorite LDS art and what feelings it gives to you.

Well, as for the LDS artists, I think they put the Roman armor on the warriors because of the BoM quote" Put the on the whole armor of God".

I think you missed what I asked. The armor comes from the verses of scripture in the Book of Mormon that talk about the Nephites having breast plates and shields and helms (unlike the Lamanites which only had bare skin), but my point was why give it a Roman look. The armor could have had a unique design fashioned after the Middle East instead.
