One of my favorites is The Spirit of God. I feel the truth of this song every time I sing it. I especially like the second verse;
The Lord is extending the Saints' understanding
Restoring their judges and all as at first
The knowledge and power of God are expanding
The veil o'er the earth is beginning to burst
Another favorite is Abide with Me! What a beautiful song that brings solace and comfort.
One of my favourite hymns is O My Father # 292.
My father used to sing it to us and it would always made me cry as a child.

1. O my Father, thou that dwellest In the high and glorious place, When shall I regain thy presence And again behold thy face? In thy holy habitation, Did my spirit once reside? In my first primeval childhood Was I nurtured near thy side? 2. For a wise and glorious purpose Thou hast placed me here on earth And withheld the recollection Of my former friends and birth; Yet ofttimes a secret something Whispered, "You"re a stranger here," And I felt that I had wandered From a more exalted sphere. 3. I had learned to call thee Father, Thru thy Spirit from on high, But, until the key of knowledge Was restored, I knew not why. In the heav"ns are parents single? No, the thought makes reason stare! Truth is reason; truth eternal Tells me I"ve a mother there. 4. When I leave this frail existence, When I lay this mortal by, Father, Mother, may I meet you In your royal courts on high? Then, at length, when I"ve completed All you sent me forth to do, With your mutual approbation Let me come and dwell with you. |

My favorite hymn, or should I say, the most meaningful hymn to me is "I need the every hour".
It seems that every time I am feeling really low this hymn is always sang in sacrament.
Strangely though, a couple of years ago when my mum passed away I was making arrangements with a member of the bishopric for the funeral. I needed to choose a hymn and the only one that popped into my head was I need the every hour but I really couldn't face hearing it so I said I couldn't think of anything and left it to him to choose. guess what he choose.... you guessed correctly, yes it was "I need thee every hour"
Name: Sakuso
Comments: My favorite hymn is "Dear to the Heart of the Shepherd" because it always reminds me of the first missionaries who came to my home.
