Debate: How Do You Handle It?

In a debate about something you feel strongly about do you...

a. never back down till the other person changes her opinion
b. try to reach a compromise
c. accept someone else's opinions

Seeing how there're a few debates around here & there (heated, i might add) i'll just like to know whats everyone's mindset going into a debate

I'm always very very persistant but I do go with an open mind.

Hmmmm I am extremely persistant even more if I believe that I'm right wink.gif. I will try to explain myself more, rationalize it with the other individual but if I see I am going no where I will just drop the subject for good....of course....after giving some 'last' words. biggrin.gif

Im somewhere in the middle. If its about like, religion, i have my set in stone beliefs, and those arnt changing. But if its something else, say my beliefs on Censorship (which im very very against) I would be able to bend a little bit, but not much.
