Cat found with paws bound with tape
Deputies in Santa Clarita found a cat with its paws bound with electrical tape in the back seat of a car. A man and woman inside the vehicle were arrested on suspicion of possession of narcotics and the owner of the cat is facing animal cruelty charges. Ref. Source 7u

My goodness, obviously this man is mental or something. I cannot start imaging the pain and suffering of these poor animals and like they say, those people who do things like this to animals they usually do it to humans as well!

Timothy Kooyman was ordered to trial in May on four felony animal cruelty charges. Last week, San Bernardino County prosecutors amended the charges to include using scissors as a deadly weapon.
Kooyman has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. If convicted, he faces up to seven years in prison. It was not known if he had a lawyer.
Prosecutors say the 25-year-old Kooyman lured stray cats, then broke their legs and cut off their tails with scissors. Last May, Kooyman allegedly set a live cat ablaze and started a brush blaze. Source 1q

Clovis police rescue cat bound with tape
Officers arrested a 24-year-old man after they found an adult male cat bound by electrical tape around its neck, face, nose and legs inside a backpack the man was carrying. It was initially thought the cat was dead, but it began to breathe after tape was removed from its nose. Ref. Source 9f.

An 8-pound puppy dropped off at an animal shelter had a rubber band around her neck for so long it cut deeply into the skin. The band was found when she underwent surgery. The dog likely will be put up for adoption today. Ref. Source 8m.
