How often do you change them, and why?

I really don't change mine that much ... Usually only when I switch internet providers. Right now I have two though and I use them both.

I don't change mine very often because it is hard to make sure everyone gets my new address. I know people who have one that is used when surfing the net or buying stuff so that the majority of spam goes to it and they use the other for regular correspondence.

Most people change them when they change ISPs. A good thing about Hotmail or Yahoo accounts is that you don't have to keep changing your address every time you change accounts.

For those not as computer savvy as others: To create a hot mail account or yahoo account, just go to hotmail or yahoo and set it up. They are free if under a certain mailbox size. Hotmail gives you 2MB free and Yahoo gives you 4 MB free. You could just use these accounts for stuff like this web site and keep your other addresses as well. This way you only need the 2 or 4 MB that is given you for free. Then just start using them.

If you need more than 2 or 4 MBs storage, you can pay a small fee for a larger mailbox.

Go to mail.yahoo.com if you want to set up a yahoo mail account. Go to www.hotmail.com for a hotmail account. You go to these pages as well to check your mail. They are web based and can be accessed from any PC via Internet Explorer.

I have three email accounts. One for personal correspondence, my yahoo account for when I register for things, and then I have JUNO which I never use. (I've got to let the JUNO one elapse, but I keep going there every two months and deleting everything ~ talk about spam mail! And Porn!)

I learned the hard way about having a second account to use when you register items online. Now that I have it, my personal account is mail that I really want to read. No junk, spam or porn!

Also in doing my genealogy, when I mail out bunchs of letters to 'maybe' relatives, I use my yahoo email address along with my P O Box address. Then 'if' one of the replys is from a kook it is really easy to block them. Oh,yeah ~ don't EVER use your phone number on your letterhead either. Not only will they call you at all hours, they can find where you live.

The Email address....

1. Does not exist
2. Once existed but is over quota (Has more mail in it than allotted so it cannot receive anymore)
3. Has been closed or no longer in use
4. The server that once had or has the Email address domain is temporarily out of service

Rather off topic, but...
Currently your Email address is like that, you need to clear out the inbox wink.gif

I have a Yahoo! Account that I've had for years and years -- so long that I still have 6MB limit smile.gif I get approximately 300 spam messages a day on that account! Terrible! But I use their spam filter and most of it goes to a "Bulk" mailbox that I just empty without looking at it. Personal email goes to another account, and business/purchases email to another *smile* I used to have one for dating sites, but I'm done with all that.

I have three email accounts: one at work, one at home and one which I like to call my roaming account. That is my yahoo email. My work email I try not to give out as much to avoid spam. My home email I hardly use, but it allows for up to 15MB in attachments. My yahoo account I use multiple times a day every day because I can access it everywhere. However, it is limited to about 1.5MB for attachments. Plus it gets spammed like crazy tongue.gif

I have two. One Yahoo! Account, for all the stuff you sign up for that might get you SPAM.(Forums, AIM stuff, Ect...) I also have another webmail that I use for important life stuff(You know 4-H, Speech Class, Ect...). I'm currantly thinking of changing though, so that I can use Mozzila Thunderbird.
