Case Histories Season 1 Episode 1 - Jackson discovers a woman's body in the water while out he is running. His efforts to retrieve the body fails but he notices that she's wearing religious some earrings. Crime novelist Martin Canning has comedian Richard Moat staying with him. Martin ends up seeing a violent road-rage attack and attacks the assailant with his bag. The hospital request that Martin goes with the attack victim who because of his injuries shouldn't be left on his own. Gloria Hatter learns that her husband, Graham, is in hospital suffering a heart attack after a dominatrix session with Tatiana. Tatiana is revealed as wearing the same religious earrings as the dead girl. After seeing Tatiana at the hospital, Martin has a flashback to a girl in a hotel room. Jackson ends up learning from Martin that he once slept with a prostitute in Russia and accidentally killed her.
