March 2004

We would like to thank our newest moderator, Nighthawk for taking up the 'board calling'. His main focus will be the Religious Beliefs and Traditions board.

For the rest of March we hope to focus on the scripts we already have rather than introduce new ones. This means we will be looking at perfecting them so they can be more user friendly and/or have better features.

Member Wars - make sure to check the Member Wars board for the latest updates on that forum based game.

Post Count and Participation

To get a better feel for how often a member participates in the forum you will now see a better highlighted post count as well as '# posts a day'.

Some members tend to think that visiting a site is participation, but that is not true. participation is based on actually replying and/or interacting with other members publicly.

This new feature help you and the other members see how many posts you make on average.

Two New Boards!

Based on a need to have a distinction between topics we have added two new boards:

Activism Board, under the International Board. This Board was created for threads that are not religious related and at the same time it is not 'news' per sey. This Board will enable you to discuss long standing issues.

Job Descriptions Board - this is a new idea. Basically we have a lot of professionals passing through here and a lot of users that want to become professionals... so why not have them share their thoughts? The Job Description Board allows professionals to explain what they do, promotion, salary, etc. This way users can see if that is the career/job they wish to pursue.

These have been added to the Site Map as well.

Small, but important updates

NEW FIELD - We recently added a new field in your profile called, 'Tech Knowledge'. In this field we hope to understand how computer proficient our users are as well how they see this site via their monitor. This is automatically included on the registration page for new users, but old users will need to fill this in - Thanks.

MORE MOODS - We are surprised with how many users feel negative, so in order that they may have more ways of expressing their mood we have added more words of expression to the mood field.

ADDED CHARISMA - Based on a recent request we added charisma to the Dial-up skin. We may in the future consider adding one more skin, but not now.

To help users easily switch between skins we have placed a drop down menu skin selector at the top of every page and on the portal. This facility is also available to guests in case they are using a dial-up connection and become turned of by a long download.
