Comments: Just an idea for you people. If you are in a tabletop session use a whiteboard as your tabletop it is so great for mapping out places real fast and then erasing it as you need.

That is actually a pretty cool idea Faria. I haven't like been in a tabletop game for ages but I could see this being very practical especially if it had the inch size squares on it too.

This is correct, and I've used one once recently in a chat game I run online using Savage Worlds, in the Solomon Kane setting. I've used Scriblink, as multiple people can login to the same whiteboard at the same time, draw and write in realtime, and chat, so if you don't have a map or something like that set up, you can mock up badly drawn stick-figures and x's and stuff for positions in relation to the river, or show your players what the symbol above the door looks like, etc.

I have to agree that this is a great idea. I gamed a couple of years back with a group of guys who had a tablecloth that was covered with a grid pattern. I don't know what it was made out of but they would just draw the map right on it and place the characters on the map. They then just washed the ink off when they needed a new map. I really wish I knew from where they got it.

I'll bet it was made with a synthetic material like vinyl which can be rolled and has one side that is glossy and smooth just perfect for white board markers. That gives me some ideas actually, thanks for this topic.
