King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV and his wife, Queen Halaevalu Mata'aho, of Tonga
visited Salt Lake City last weekend to participate in the dedication of a
newly rebuilt Methodist church. The king, who is Methodist, met with Utah
government officials and leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-
day Saints during his visit. About 30 Latter-day Saints from the Magna Utah
Tongan Branch worked alongside Methodists to rebuild the church, which had
been destroyed by fire.

I wonder how much the LDS Church contributes to the economy of Tonga by way of buildings, employment, resources, etc? It is a wonder the King has not converted yet I did hear he attends sacrament meetings though.
