Comments: Why do we import so much food in Trinidad and Tobago when we have the resources to grow or do it ourselves right here. Cheese from New Zealand? Why can't we make cheese here? Milk products from Argentina and Jamaica? Why can't we raise cows here?

Tobago and Trinidad Food Importing

You're not the only one that wonders that. A long time now farmers have said more lands need to put aside for them to actually grow but they are being taken up for houses. Another problem farmers have is flooding.

Importing Food In Trinidad & Tobago Caribbean / Tobago & Trinidad

Why isn't hydroponics put to better or more frequent use in this country? Also because it can kept above ground like a warehouse better quality produce can be grown (some things of course) like tomatoes for instance.
