Conservatives are up in arms today by a controversial cartoon the Washington Post carried on Tuesday night that depicts pro-life Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz’s children as monkeys. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas does not plan to authorize a special force to deport undocumented immigrants, he told CNN's Jake Tapper, setting up a policy contrast with Donald Trump.
Cruz said in an interview that aired Sunday on "State of the Union" that the U.S. Should catch those who came here illegally under normal law enforcement practices, not through roundups of the estimated 11 million undocumented people living in the U.S.
"No, I don't intend to send jackboots to knock on your door and every door in America. That's not how we enforce the law for any crime," Cruz told Tapper.
