Jehovah Witnesses & Blood

I've seen many web sites condeming the Jehovah Witness' belief in not giving blood or receiving. Most of these web sites lists hundreds of names of people inluding children that died simply because they were not willing to take any blood into their system via transfusion. These same sites refer to the Jehovah Witnesses as...
MURDERS
What do you think? If one believes so strongly in something that they are willing to die for it does it make it wrong? Maybe if a JW visits this section they can share more 'light' on this subject.

I have the opportunity to speak with JW almost every week, I do have a video here about it but I didn't have the chance to look at it yet, when I do it I will post it in here.
The scriptures the JW's use about blood, it doesn't have the same interpretation for me...not to mention they have been changing their doctrine for the past century...

Scripture is clear and the Lord Jesus said "Its not what goes into the body that is unclean its what comes out of the body" therefore injection of blood is ok under scripture and JW are completely wrong.

I thought that the once sacred meat (food) Jesus changed the status on it (as in not needing to stick with Kosher foods)

When you cook it, does that make it pure?

Heh, Sorry.... I went on a posting spree last night.... I could not sleep and I started from the last page of certain boards and went through each one and posted on ones I felt I could contribute.

In many of the books of the old testament all types of foods are mentioned.... people were not to eat animals with a hoofed foot with the split in the middle (like a pig).

In the New Testament Jesus said that all food was "clean" (I should search for scripture here.... but am to lazy.)

Anyway, so I would take that to mean previously people were not to eat to blood of an animal (it was to be sacrificed to God) but I think that Jesus changed that.

But I was also wondering if one is to still take it literal about the blood of an animal..... if you fully cook it, does that make it clean (since it is cooked away the blood)

Don't say sorry  wink.gif we love your contribution to this forum! you're a very positive poster

True about all the food being 'clean' now. But I guess even though there is no reference about it in the Bible like in anything else, meat should be used 'sparingly' or not at all since there are not benefits in the use of it.

In the Old testament when an animal was killed to eat was let to bleed, so you will not 'eat' the blood within it. Of course as you mentioned, when Christ came all those things changed although is interesting to mention that most of the 'unclean' animals still being bad for our bodies such as 'pork' meat.
