TTUTA Trinidad & Tobago Unified Teachers Association - Teachers Union - Teachers in Trinidad & Tobago - Some believe Teachers deserve a larger salary while others think they get paid too much for the 'little' they do in the classroom. What are your thoughts?

More Teacher Rets? "The teachers are getting fed up and the visible action would be stepped up. Next week Thursday, Friday [22nd and 23rd November, 2012] will be Are and R, rest and reflect. According to TV6 TTUTA says that more than 80% of teachers stayed away from school today and they plan more action tomorrow.

TTUTA has accepted an 8-10% salary raise for teachers for the period 2008-2011. Senior teachers will also get an additional $600 travel allowance. TTUTA will resume talks with the Ministry of Education in January 2013 for salary negations 2011-2013.

Trinidad & Tobago Teacher Salary Increase

The agreement between TTUTA and the CPO will be officially signed on Friday when the parties meet, and the rollout of the new salaries is expected in March 2013. Ref. Source 5

Finally. I am not really happy with the agreement because I believe if you are going to pay teachers such low salaries, at least give them some perks! But, let's see what happen in the next negotiations.

The TTUTA executive is saying that the Ministry of Education should not penalize teachers who may have missed school today due to the Trinidad Total Policing Day based on a 1998 collective agreement.

Comments: Everything is normal today, thank goodness. By the way there will be an increase in the amount TTUTA charges its members. The cost is now going to be $100 per month.
