Two Lds Missionaries Killed In Texas
A very sad day indeed. My deepest condolences to the families of Elder Trevor Reinhold Strong and Elder Derek Jason Walker. I hope the third missionary, Elder Zachary Todd Harris can make a full recovery.
QUOTE DONNA, Texas - Two LDS missionaries were killed while riding their bikes in this southeast Texas town Tuesday and a third was critically injured in the same apparent hit-and-run accident.
Elder Trevor Reinhold Strong, 21, of Taylorsville, and Elder Derek Jason Walker, 20, of Fairfield, Idaho, were killed in the accident that happened around 7:30 p.m., the LDS Church confirmed Tuesday evening. Elder Zachary Todd Harris, 19, of Huntsville, Ala., was taken to a nearby hospital. He is expected to recover.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Elder Harris and the family, friends and loved ones of Elder Strong and Elder Walker," said Scott Trotter, spokesman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. "We pray that the Lord will comfort and watch over them during this difficult time." Source 2

Church Statement Regarding Missionary Deaths in Texas
Two missionaries were killed and another was injured when a vehicle struck all three while they were riding their bikes in Donna, Texas Tuesday evening. Elder Trevor Reinhold Strong, 21, of Taylorsville, Utah and Elder Derek Jason Walker, 20, of Fairfield, Idaho were killed. Elder Zachary Todd Harris, 19, of Huntsville, Alabama was rushed to a nearby medical center, but has now been released from the hospital. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the missionaries involved in this tragic incident. We pray that they will be comforted as they mourn the loss of their loved ones, who served others selflessly as missionaries. Ref. Source 1
Two Lds Missionaries Killed In Texas Studies Doctrine Mormon
Sad that the missionary involved had extended his mission. If he went home when he was supposed to he could of been with his family now. I bet the church will look closer at missionary wanting to extend their mission because of this.
