OOC: No, you see what I mean is that I know that Eissa is intelligent, but she happens to have an amazing knack for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. For example, she can usually pick the right choice in a riddle or answer the correct answer to a difficult question, but she's not very good at dealing with people and things. Note the crappy soul. I didn't mean for Eissa to be playing stupid (she isn't) but instead to be... ah, more of a smart character with bad social skills. So in a situation like this, Eissa would be rather stumped on what to say, but she would probably be able to find a way out. Somehow.

Oh, I see. Well she is your character. I would hate to see her die suddenly, so play her the best way you see fit. I do enjoy your creativity with her.

[camp] Circus RPG PBP Medieval World

ooc:

I feel like an idiot for not considering there would be people in the tents, but *of course* they would be before the show.....

Oh, boy we're in a pickle... Great that the distraction worked! woo hoo! But..now the thieves face the magician and his flooz... er... lady... I think the suggestions so far, with Althea and Eissa stammering flattery and inanities and meanwhile scanning the room and backing out of the tent door -- so they are actually moving -- is a great idea. If this guy is such a great Magician, he could turn them into frogs or something... let's not mess with him directly. Once they get outside, perhaps that could be a signal for Ice and Ariadne to back off of their fighting so that the burly guards will let them go.

Shade.. what would a young thief like to know about his future? Do you think he can withstand the lovely woman's charm and actually ask about the circus shows? Or will he ask about a young lass he's got an eye for? Treasure? Great fame?

I'd like to post later tonight. If you could all post what your characters might do -- Airmed, I think I have yours for going to the animals area until the show starts.
Thanks for all your great suggestions and comments! And for your patience while I was gone.
======================================================
Althea curses herself for three kinds of a fool! Of course there would be folk in the tent before the show! She mentally slaps her forehead and tries to think fast. This man does not look the type to trifle with. Althea hears Eissa's "oops!" behind her and knows the youngster feels the same way as she does. How are we getting out of this one? Althea asks herself, and begins to stammer...

"Oh, sir! Beggin' your pardon, Great Sir! We.. er.. ah.. we were just.. well, we heard you were such a great Magician, sir, and we..er.. well, we wanted to see fer ourselves, don't you know, and how a great person such as yourself might live, we bein' humble folk, as you can see...." and similar blather as her eyes scan the room and take in the layout of furniture, the decor, the items on tables and dresser tops.

All the while she is talking, Althea is moving inch-by-inch toward the tent door, pulling Eissa along with her by a firm grip on her elbow. "We din't mean yer no harm, great sir, no, sir, and that's the truth, and you, dear lady, beggin' yer pardon, miss.. er... well, we'll just be on our way and bother you no more, eh? Terribly sorry for the intrusion...."

Here is a thought. Could the woman be the magician and the man a body guard?

Ice and Ariadne will probably be best to play it by ear. If you are able to get out on your own, we should stop the fight of our own accord. Just act like we are still mad, but stop the shoving and pushing. If you are unsuccessful in your quest to leave the tent unaccosted, then we need to be prepared to help.

While you are backing out of the tent, do try to be observant of the stuff around you if at all possible.

Circus camp

OOC:I can't think of anything to ask about the circus...

IC:Shade asks the Palm Reader: "Will I be finding any treasure in the near future? If so can you tell me what kind of treasure?"

OOC: Argh! No! Wait! Ahem. Er, this is xepher wondering that perhaps you could have asked something more like -> tell me what will happen tonight, and if it will concern me or something to the like. I don't know really, but money seems a little superficial. Shade is your character, though, so I'm not interfering with that. If he likes treasure, it's his business.

And, um, before I post in character, I'd just like to remind you that we're not sure if this really is the magician we're dealing with. He could be a ringleader or a showperson or something, we still haven't checked tent E. Think we'll have some way to sneak in before show starts? If not, then we'll just have to try during the show or something. By the way, include this in the Party Order if it's possible. Eissa will try to grab hold of something small in the tent if there is one such item within reach, no matter what it is, as Althea pulls her out. More of this in the post.

IC: Eissa let herself be pulled away gratefully. Standing in a room with other people (gosh, that dress really was low) who asked hard to answer questions like 'who are you and why are you here' was never her forte. She was far more comfortable working in the dark, alone, without the help of others. Still, she was mightily grateful for Althea this once.

As she was being forcefully (but not objecting) pulled out, Eissa made a note of the man and the lady's features, not knowing why. It just seemed important that she remembered what they looked like. Then, as her cloak was somewhat covering her movements (tangling her up, more like) she waved a hand around, trying to grab any small item that it might have come in contact with and praying that the two people didn't notice. Please, she thought, let me do something useful for a change.

OOC:Yes but this seems to be a useless question because I already know what the Palm reader will probably answer, you should too, shes not going to give anything away thus she will probably only answer with something like the main event.

I will edit if you think of something more sespific.(Spelling)

Since I don't believe she can truly reveal anything since she can't really predict the future, it probably doesn't matter what you ask her. Unless, we can thing of some probing question that will lead her in a particular direction to give us a hint. I think it more likely that we have lost 1 GP for nothing or we may find she tries to put you under some spell.
