Yes, it is an amazing time we live in. It will only be a few years before travel agents will be selling "weekend orbit flights". I can see everybody preparing for this as we speak. Just try finding a domain to register in this field. Sorry, most are already gone.
I don't enjoy flying. It makes me nervous. I think it is partly a control thing. At least when I ride my motorcycle I am in control. If I hit a tree it is because I did something to hit the tree. I could never be a passenger on the back of a bike and I don't enjoy being a passenger in a plane.
Therefore, I will probably not be one of the first in line for a ride into space either. All I can think about is what happened to the first attempt to send a teacher into space. It was such a well publicized event. What a terrible outcome too.
Oh yes, I remember the case of the teacher, it was soo sad!. I think so far we haven't reached the technology to assure everybody that when we send a rocket we will go and return in safety. There is always a huge risk.
Yes, in fact, remember the shuttle that broke apart in the last few minutes while re-entering the earth's atmosphere. The shuttle program is still grounded as a result of that. I think I will stick with my motorcycle, thank you very much!
