What is the longest period you have ever gone reading without stopping for a break of any kind, not even to eat? What were you reading at the time that had you so engrossed?
I've spent entire weekends reading -- I couldn't say that I actually didn't eat or visit the bathroom or sleep, but I did nothing else but read.
One of those marathons was Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged", and I'm sure another was Stephen King's "The Tommyknockers"." Nothing earthshattering

Oooh the Tommyknockers, I remember reading that book, it really freaked me out. My longest read was another of Stephen King's novel called 'It'. I spent a long weekend reading the middle of that book. It took me a total of 9 days to read the entire novel, and if you've read it before, you know how long it was. That weekend I was off of work, and didnt have any assignments for college, so I parked myself on the couch, and dug in. As for straight through reading, I would say a good 6 hours straight that weekend.
Nearly 12 hours reading The Plains of Passage, by Jean Aul. Took the book to the bathroom with me!! Drank water only, and then when I finished it, I went to sleep for nearly 14 hours. Got up, ate a very large breakfast and started reading it again!! Only slower this time. Got the book for Christmas ~ so I read it Christmas day!
I spent about a week reading non-stop the Amber book series by Roger Zelazny. the books aren't large, but for being how small they are, they have to be perhaps the greatest book series I have ever read. the complex turns and twists that Zelazny adds to them is just amazing. Now I did eat and use the restroom during this time, but I never stopped reading durining then. Sleep on the other hand never really came >.>"
