A Friend

What Do You Believe In?

I like to believe in wings and things
With cloaks and daggers and jeweled rings
And birds above on wind and air
Flying high and staying there

I want to believe in hopes that fly
Above our hearts into the sky
I need to believe in thoughts that soar
That buoy our hopes and make them roar

I hope to believe that stars that shine
Are reflecting eyes looking down in rhyme
With all our hopes and dreams it seems
They shine with love and care, they"re there.

Drabble from a teenage girl. Also known as a tribute to my grandmother, who passed away when I was nine, and was inspiration for the last stanza.
